Life is incredible because it has so many different dimensions its all about how you walk the roads along the journey. As we walk in our journey we always encounter obstacles placed so we do not win. That is the nature of negative influences that arise. To pull you from your soul.
The life of the chosen encounter this with full blasts. Artists in music deal with hate as soon as they grab that mic as soon as they try to promote as soon as they begin to walk forward toward their goal, the haters are there to help you otherwise into destruction.
When creating father God me and ALYST spoke about these aspects and was looking to find a way to put that together. One inspiration for me growing up was KRS ONE who spoke lyrical knowledge over boom bap tracks. The sound the message was explosive.
As I sat down and began to carve out this track I began to tap into that same energy and feel. I used drums in a simple pattern but again progressive but dirty toned hit-hats. I love guitars and wanted to create a quick loop but I couldnt get the right tone. I left the track with the basic foundation setup but it needed a lead thats when I started sampling what I played thru midi on the MPC X and I used eq’s to take out the highs of the patch I used from the roland acoustic sound. Layered that with another guitar tone from Omnisphere to the point the acoustic sounded a brighter and as natural tone as possible next the reverb from air instruments love that effect. My last aspect was incorporating scary strings to bring out the whole feel and backend of the track. In the end using a final eq on the whole mix and Father God was born.
The video was really fun doing because we tried filming it 3 different times and the footage would come out bad or get lost it was just chaos so I went at it from a spiritual side. The inspirations were all around me all I had to do was look. The lyrics of the track spoke for themselves and gave it a sinister air with a great message letting God handle your problems. As humans we all get caught up in moments and sometimes those moments lead to bad decisions but it is up to us to use those moments to reflect and look into our being to leave it all up to faith and not negativity.
When I went scouting for the local I remember finding a place that had the scene to create a movie like background feel. The whole day was cold and it began to rain we used those elements to create the feel of this and added a complete black and white effect to make it darker.
The video at the end came out to look amazing it was all about capturing the moments and the proper transitions to give the viewer a full narrative with only glances.
